In a Very Public World, I Need Some Privacy!

I know there are a lot of people who love looking at their blog stats, can't wait to see those numbers, and thinking of new ways to attract followers.  I'll admit that I feel that way occasionally.  BUT, there is something even more important to me than stats and reminds me why I started a blog in the beginning...documenting and keeping a journal of my life.  I love social media and the way we can all stay in touch.  I love staying connected to Provo friends and their growing families, family members that now live far from me, and the fact that Charlotte's grandparents and great-grandparents can continue to see her grow from a distance.

With all that said, I recently had a feeling that I should go private for a little bit.  I'm sure this will only last a little while (a month?), but for the time it will remain this way.  Thanks for your support and understanding!

Here's my little stink earlier this morning! After this picture was taken, she whacked me over the head with a tin vase and ran as fast as she could! She didn't trip once in those heels! She walks (and runs) in them perfectly! Oh I have my hands full with her :)

Happy Easter!

Nine o'clock church is rough on days like today.  I wake up way before anyone else does every Sunday, and make sure I'm ready to walk out the door before anyone wakes up.  I had so much to get ready for nursery and our party after church, that I planned ahead and did most yesterday!  But Easter baskets cannot be done in the small amount of time we do have, so the Easter Bunny came during church!

After opening Easter baskets, I set up for our little party we had.

This Easter was a bit different than all the rest...we were by ourselves.  Something I never really thought about before moving were all the holidays (besides Thanksgiving and Christmas) and who we would be spending the day with.  I got the bright idea to invite over a couple families that have young kids and whose families live further away as well; get together for some good food, company and an egg hunt!  All were successful!  It was a lot of fun having our friends over.  The kids enjoyed playing in Charlotte's room, while the adults enjoyed great conversation and got to know each other better and played a game.  Thanks for coming over and having a great Easter with us.  We hope you come back for more celebrations!  (And our fence is being put up this week!!!!!)

See...I was there!

Easter From a Distant

One thing I have recently thought about, while living so far from family, are the weekend/Sunday holidays...like Easter!  I love getting together for egg hunts and seeing everyone's cute Easter attire.  Thanks to Shutterfly, I made Easter cards for our immediate family so we could be apart of each other's Easter...at least through the thought and pictures!  Love how the cards turned out and I hope they all enjoyed them!

What are your Easter plans?

Pinterest Party

Last night I threw my first official Pinterest party at MY house!  I have been to them and threw one in Utah at Meg's condo, but I've never had one at my own place.  That was half the excitement.  I could set up in my own time, not having to rush somewhere to set up.  (It made me excited for Charlotte's second birthday party!)

Charlotte trying to get the sweets...
Smart girl!

My craft: three mason jars displaying different purposes
1.) vase
2.) Visiting Teaching goodie (jar full of candy with message tied to it)
3.) Utensil caddy (no utencils displayed)

I was expecting this just to be a ladies night out for some good convo and good food...and that's what it was!  There were five of us which I think is a great amount for normal conversations and getting to know each other a little more.  I hope the other girls had fun and I look forward to throwing more parties in the near future.  If you are interested in coming, PLEASE let me know, seriously.  I'm still getting to know people and their style, therefore, still getting to know who would be interested in coming!

Yummy treats and impressive crafts
Forgot to get a picture of Courtney right before she left.

The craft that I got to keep!  Made by Jackie.  Eggs wrapped in jute.  Loved it and put it on the shelf immediately.

Party tip: When throwing a party, use things around your house that you already have.  Instead of purchasing paper plates, cups and napkins, I used my own salad plates, paper towels, and water bottles (since I had a ton).  I have saved all the candy dishes from my wedding reception, which is what I used for the candy jar last night.  All my mason jars I used are Alfredo sauce jars I have saved for things just like this!  The only thing I purchased for the whole party was the candy (which I will use for Easter) and the fresh flowers in the jar I gave away!
