Pinterest Party

These days, women are obsessed with Pinterest.  Whether we are looking for recipes, clothing options, decor, DIY projects, or adorable newborn baby poses, we look at the one-stop-shop site.  This Monday, Desiree had a Pinterest Party!  It entails two things:
1. Everyone bring a dessert that you find off Pinterest
2.  Make a craft that is from Pinterest
She had decided on a craft and purchased the supplies for us (we paid her back for our portion) so all we did was show up with our dessert.

I was so worried about not being able to bring a dessert because Monday was insane, but she sent me a Pinterest screenshot of a simple, yet season appropriate dessert.  Witch hats!

It took me like five minutes to put them together.  If I had more time, I would have made the frosting, but I just grabbed the orange Pilsbury frosting.

I don't have a frosting squeezer (don't know the technical term) so I put the frosting in a ziploc bag, cut the tip and squeezed the frosting around the hole in the middle of the cookie.  SO EASY!!!  Then placed the Hershey kiss on top.

The craft we did at Desiree's were yarn Candy Corns.  If I can do it, anyone can.

Came home and added them to my Halloween display.  I think I need a bigger entryway table ;) It would also be cute to put them on candlestick holders or a fireplace mantle.

I loved this idea of a Pinterest Party so much, that I am doing one with cousins in Utah in a couple weeks!  I can't wait!

Trunk-or-Treat

Charlotte had her first (official) Trunk-or-Treat tonight.  In the LDS church, every Halloween season, each ward gets together for a party to see everyone's Halloween costumes, decorate their trunks and have a fun evening!!  Last year, Charlotte was not even two months old and didn't even have a costume and just slept.  So last year doesn't really count.  But this year I found a strawberry costume at Once Upon A Child in Connecticut and couldn't pass it up ($6.50!!).  The costume was a hit...especially since Charlotte is walking now! There were some other great costumes.  People really put a lot of thought into them.  Here are some pictures from the night!

Trying to take pictures before we left...
One last one with the head-piece on....
...and it's gone for the rest of the night!
Quite the turn out!!

Josh passing out candy.  We ran out and then was given more.  I underestimated how many people by only purchasing ONE bag, but the BIGGEST bag!

Charlotte is EVERYWHERE now.  She would not hold still for two seconds!
All the ward members Trunk-or-Treating!
Grant, from our Primary class, paid Charlotte a little visit.  The kids in our class love her!

Charlotte loved Amanda's dog!  She needs one!
This concluded such a fun day for us.  Starting at Disneyland for breakfast (my absolute favorite) and rode a couple rides.  Then headed to the Spectrum for lunch at Pieology and played some games at Dave and Busters.  Believe it or not, it was all Josh's idea!  He knows the way to my heart...being out and about and eating out!  I was in heaven with my two loves today making our way around Orange County!  Thanks for such a fun day.

Melissa's Baby Shower

Baby Dane is already one loved little boy!  Desiree put together a fantastic baby shower with the help of Melissa Martin (yes, there are TWO Melissa's!) for Melissa and soon-to-be Baby Dane!  I was pleasantly surprised to see all the detail that Desiree put into the gathering.  She really has an eye for event planning and there's no question why she is starting her own business!  There was detail in EVERYTHING!!  To the very smallest corners, water stands, and decorations.  It was all covered!!  I was the designated photographer (due to left cameras and non-working SD cards).  Since it's my blog, I will only post pictures that really pertain to me, but stay tuned for more pictures elsewhere, I'm sure!  Luckily, Josh got off early and picked up Charlotte on his way home from work.

When Brady saw Charlotte, his eyes got big yelled, "Baby Charlotte!" ran over and gave her a big hug!

Charlotte's Birthday Dress

Like I said, before, I would take pictures of Charlotte in her birthday dress eventually when Josh could help.  As he snapped away, I was doing everything in my power to get her to smile.  It worked and we got some great photos!

Thank you to Grandma Shelia, again, for making this beautiful dress (and with no pattern) for our Charlotte Lyn!

Pumpkin City 2013

Just like last year, we took Charlotte to Pumpkin City.  A family tradition!  I can't believe how much she has grown in the last year.  It just blows my mind.  Last year, she could hardly see and now this year she is walking all over the pumpkin patch!  We went yesterday afternoon and it amazes me each year how much the little farm grows!  They add so much each year; whether it be carnival booths or more rides...and less pumpkins!!  Don't be fooled by mine and Charlotte's long sleeves and long pants...it was about 80 degrees!!  We had a day planned but went home after this, allowing the cool temperatures to set in before leaving again.  This is not normal Fall...pumpkin patches in the HEAT?!  But I guess that's normal for here.  I have never been so ready for cooler weather in my life!
