A Day Late and A Dollar Short

Josh and I are finally married. I am finally creating our blog. This is our story...

In May of 2008, I moved up to Provo, UT after the end of a serious relationship and many other trials. I needed to have a change of scenery. Little did I know I was about to meet my eternal companion! I moved to an apartment complex named, "Enclave Village." Just months before I moved there, Josh had returned home from his mission and moved to the Enclave in January. For about a year, we ran in the same circle of friends but were nothing more than acquaintances. In May 2009, Josh and his roommate, Marcus, me and my roommate, Maggie, decided to take a weekend trip to Las Vegas. We stayed with Marcus' family and played on the strip. I had always thought Josh was a total cutie, but never even thought about dating him. Over the weekend my crush grew and I knew when we got back to Provo, it would be time to take care of business.

When we got back to Provo, I called the guy I had been seeing and called it quits! I knew I had to persue Josh Whitmore...I just didn't know how! At the time, I worked at the MTC Bookstore and wanted to set up a co-worker/friend with a mutual friend of mine and Josh's. My friends I was setting up wanted me to come along also and bring a date. I got up enough courage and asked Josh to come with us; come to find out he never considered it a date. We hung out a ton and finally one night, we were by ourselves and went for a little drive to a place called, Squaw Peak. There, Josh and I had our first kiss!! It was the greatest first kiss and I will NEVER forget it. A week after our first kiss, I left to go to Washington, D.C. with Tahnee, Michael, and Tyler. I for sure thought Josh would forget about me and I would never get to kiss his cute face again. But I was wrong!! We talked everyday on the phone while I was gone and when I arrived back in Utah, he came over to my apartment as soon as he could. It was great!

During this time, we were never official, but more sneaking around and keeping it our little secret. We went on another road trip with Taylor Greene, to California. The last night there, Josh and I went down to Laguna Beach and sat on the sand having a great conversation. I, then, told him that I need to know if this is going anywhere or if this is just for kicks. I was getting emotionally involved (imagine that) and I couldn't keep hanging out with him if it was not evolving. Josh replied by saying he would think about it.

The next day we left for Provo. On the way we stopped in Las Vegas for lunch. While we were walking on the strip, he held my hand!! This was the moment I had been waiting for. He always told me that when people hold hands they are dating. I was beaming!!! I didn't say anything...I just wanted to enjoy the moment. Soon as we drove into Provo that night, it was the midnight showing of Harry Potter. Josh is a huge fan, so naturally, we went. We met up with a huge group from our ward. He held my hand the whole time! Later that night, I asked what all the hand holding was about and he said that he has so much fun with me and wants to be with me. Since then, we have been going strong!

For Christmas break, Josh invited me out to meet his family in Connecticut. After that trip, we both knew we would marry each other. His family was amazing and I am so lucky to have such great in-laws!

Josh proposed at the beginning of February 2010 in Park City, UT; a favorite place of ours that we go often. We finally tied the knot on April 30, 2010.
