Weekend Family Fun

Josh's sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Zachary Richard Fiet, last month and now that we live close enough, we were able to drive up this weekend to Kentucky for the baby blessing

We arrived Friday and we were all shocked how well Charlotte did on such little sleep. She loved all the toys and being with her cousins, but only wanted to be with me the entire time; hence the lack of pictures of everyone else.  The weather was so nice the whole weekend.  The drive wasn't near as bad or felt as long as I was anticipated.  Overall, it was a great weekend!

Setting up Rick's Father's Day present...Corn Hole

Charlotte was in heaven with all the new toys, side walk chalk, swings...everything!

Drawing with Gram!
Bath time...love Charlotte's eyes haha!

My new nephew, Zachary!
My baby has been extra clingy lately.
Saturday was the actual blessing day. We did the blessing at Rachel's in-laws home. I always love blessings and hearing what the fathers feel inspired to say to their newborn child. Since I've gone through the experience with Josh and Charlotte, they are so much more meaningful to me. Kevin did a great job and it's always so fun to celebrate a new baby in the family.

Kisses for Tess

Uncle Dan!
Proud parents!

Proud siblings!

Gram and Gramps with all the grandkids...Charlotte is thrilled!

After the blessing, Kevin's parents hosted an entire pizza party for all of us! They have a pizza oven in the backyard and had every topping you could think of. We all made our own personal pizzas and enjoyed their beautiful backyard. It was so much fun! Thanks to the Fiets and all the work you put into hosting us!

Of course every night we are together (no matter the occasion), we stay up late and talk, and that was still the case this weekend.

Sunday morning we all lounged around, played more "Corn Hole," celebrated Fathers Day, Rach painted Charlotte's nails and we got ready to leave that afternoon.

Matching nails!!
She has a rough life...can't you tell?
Scary Tess!

After Charlotte woke up from her nap, Josh and I were upstairs and he asked if he could open his Father's Day gift.  It wasn't anything crazy (a shirt), since we weren't going to be home and he didn't want anything anyway.  And then my phone was too full to take any more pictures :(

I've noticed most of my pictures are of Charlotte and Tess...I hope they become the best of friends as they grow up!!

Thank you Kevin and Rachel for opening your home to all of us. It was a lot of fun and hopefully there are more weekends like this now that we are within driving distance!!
