Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving and went down to SUNNY AND WARM southern California.  The weather was amazing!!  Meg and Taylor drove down with us as well.  We left Tuesday after work/class and picked up Taylor in Las Vegas, switched cars, toured his "hotel" and were off again.  The first day, Josh, Taylor and Meg went to Disneyland...yes-without me.  My back has been having some major problems.  I hope this goes to show just how bad if I can't even go to the happiest place on earth!  So I went shopping with Annie and she got some great stuff.  I was scouting out what I wanted for Black Friday.  Later that day, my family got home from quading in the desert.  They all had a blast.  I got to play with the kids for a bit before bedtime.  I can't believe how big the twins are getting.  Lillee is talking so well now, too.  The next day was Thanksgiving.  We had homemade cinnamon rolls delivered to the house (which were wonderful) and then we hung out until it was time to go to Jim's house. There was a smaller group this time.  It was great food though and nice to just relax.  At 6:30, we went over to Jeff and Abby's house to see Meg and Josh's cousin, Amy, who is serving in their ward.  We were able to visit with her and her companion.

That night at midnight, we got up and went BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!!  We went to Target and the line was extremely long.  We waited a while in the car and tried to figure out if we were going to get out.  Finally, we did.  I thought Meg was going to bail on me for the rest of the day of shopping...thank goodness she didn't!  We got into Target and there were a ton of people.  We went back to the electronics.  Meg and I both bought "Catch Phrase" for 50% off.  Then I bought a body pillow and cover (doctor's orders) for $7 each.  The checkout line went probably faster than on a normal day.  We were in and out within 20 minutes.  We then went back to the house, took a 2 1/2 hour "nap" and left at 4:00 AM for the mall.  About a month ago, there was a Living Social deal for the Shops at Mission Viejo for valet parking and access to a lounge that was set up in the mall.  I bought it for Meg and I and it was totally worth it.  We were the first ones to be valet parked and throughout the day we were able to get refreshments and bottled water.  We even were able to check-in our bags...and thank goodness, because we had a lot!  We were at the mall (and ran across to Burlington Coat Factory) for over SEVEN HOURS!!!   If you had told me that before I went, I would have not gone, but it truly didn't even seem like that long.  Half-way through, my mom came and joined us.  We all ended up getting great deals at the LOFT.  My mom is the winner with a pair of jeans for $2.44!  I wish we would have got a picture with all of our bags.  My new favorite store is Francesca's.  We ended up spending our entire budget (what a shock).  It was so fun though.  After Burlington, we went home, showered and got the boys and went BACK to the mall, Best Buy, and Nordstrom Rack.  Later that night, we went to Temecula for a surprise wedding anniversary party for my aunt and uncle, Heidi and Dave.  It was a really nice evening, being together as a family and celebrating Heidi and Dave's 25 years together.  The next morning we had cinnamon rolls delivered AGAIN.  Then we all went to the swapmeet.  I love the swapmeet, but I don't think other people (who haven't grown up with it) appreciate it as much. I could have spent a couple more hours there.  After, we went home and hung out around the house, ate lunch and then for dinner we went down to Laguna Beach and ate at BJ's.

 Swapmeet

BJ's...yes, we can wait outside in November!

My favorite!!  The next morning we left around 5:30 am and made it home in time to unwind and have an enjoyable evening.  Overall, it was a good trip.  Christmas is going to be even better!  Three more weeks...can't wait!!

Gracee and Gregory were in love with Meg

Meg became Gracee's personal Make-up artist.  Then we told her to pose for a photo shoot...oh dear!

Lillee and her new clothes (yep...jeggings!)  and her new Christmas shoes she refused to take off.  That girl is obsessed with shoes!!

Taylor was Gracee's math tutor

I knew this day would come...

When we first got married, there were a few things we had to purchase.  One being a DVD player.  Luckily for my husband, PS3 players are BLU-RAY players, and he talked me into getting one.  I told him there was only one rule...no blood and guts/violent/war games.  For his birthdays and Christmas he would get games like Madden and other normal games.  I have been waiting for the day when he wants to get a "bad" game.  The time has come.  One day I got to work and up pops my G-chat from Josh.  "We need to make a deal."  Oh dear, I knew I wouldn't like this.  He went on to talk about how much he wanted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.  Gag me!  I fought, but obviously lost.  So I got what I wanted too...

Fair?  Not really...I'll have to think of something else ;)  But my Sephora purchase is in the mail along with several samples and free gifts!  This and my Birchbox?  I am having a good week :)

BIRCHBOX ARRIVAL

Today at work, I was G-chatting with Melissa and she was telling me all about her BIRCHBOX.  It got me really excited to receive mine.  When I got home and checked the mail, there it was!!  Let me take you step by step ;)

This box arrived in the mail.  Smaller than I thought, but still so excited.
After I opened it, here was my beloved (and official) BIRCHBOX!  Anxious to see what's inside? So was I!!
Whitening toothpaste, lip plumper, Kate Spade fragrance, and nail polish
There is also a price sheet enclosed that shows how much each product is when it's a full-size item.

You ready to order yours? Do it here.

I am satisfied and feel like the $10 each month will be well worth it.  I told Melissa I wish they came every week!!  Waiting another month is going to feel like forever.  I am a cosmetic freak, so has been very exciting waiting for and receiving.  I also just order this product from Sephora and am so excited to get it (hopefully this week).  I also ordered free samples and a couple other things.  I'll post why a little later :)

Skin Reality

Ok, so here I go, talking about my skin again.  Although this time, I think more of you can relate.  The dreaded topic of...BLACKHEADS!  Eww!  Gross!  How can she talk about this on her BLOG?!  Yesterday I bought the blackhead strips by Biore for me and Josh.  Our noses have been bothering us...and that's where I'll stop :)

(I couldn't smile.  And Josh didn't want to be photographed...wonder why!)

If you look close enough, you can see the gunk.

Leggo my Eggo

Since I was in kindergarten up until my senior year of high school, I ate two eggo waffles every morning for breakfast.  You're probably wondering, "and you never got sick of them?"  Nope!  I still love them...but the calories and cost keep me from purchasing them still.  Why the post about waffles?  Well, allow me to explain.  On Monday, I was talking to my friend Hannah, and she mentioned that she had four eggo waffles that morning for breakfast.  I got really excited.  Someone else who shares a love of Eggos like me!  I also told Hannah that I have a certain way of eating them.  Yep, that is a fact.  Then in my Ethics class, an hour later, we were talking about OCD people.  I realized that I am OCD with my waffles by the way I make and eat them.  I toast them, turn them upside down (duh, it tastes better), put (real) butter and (real) syrup on (remember how I mentioned the calories-now you know), microwave that for 20 seconds, poor a cold glass of milk, and I'm ready.  The way I eat them...Count up two rows, cut it off, then cut in half, eat, drink milk, then eat the other end-just the last row, then I have four middle rows left.  Cut them in half, so there are two rows each, then cut each row into three sections, eat the ends first and end up with the two very middle pieces of the waffle.  Drink milk.  I know...I'm an OCD freak!!  I can't really think of anything else I am like this with.  And I've been eating them this way for a very long time.  And I prefer the Buttermilk style ;) Anyway, that's a big into my personal weird self!

My Friend, Lisa

Can I just brag about my friend Lisa?  Lisa and I became great friends in our student ward up in Provo (where I still am).  I remember the first time I saw Lisa.  Her and her husband Kasey, were teaching Sunday School and I thought they were just the cutest couple.  The way they looked at each other, there was NO DOUBT they weren't in love.  They held hands all the time, kissed whenever they saw the chance and I knew that I wanted to get to know Lisa even more.  Then we got our visiting teaching assignments.  Me and Lisa were companions!!!  Boy, did Heavenly Father know!  It was a VT match made in heaven.  I loved being with Lisa.  We became more than VT comps but good friends.  Then in January, Lisa started doing the Wii Biggest Loser game.  Here comes the bragging part....since January, Lisa has now lost 93 pounds and did it all on her own!!  Take a look at her journey...

Right now, I am starting to watch what I eat and would love to drop a few pounds.  She is my inspiration.  You look amazing, Lisa.  Keep up the good work.

Trip to the Promised Land

Since UVU had a fall break, we decided to go down to southern California and enjoy the warm weather and fun things CA has to offer.

We took the twins to Disneyland on Thursday.  We took them a couple times over the summer and of course they love it.  We went on a bunch of kid rides, but it was fun to spend time with them.

After, we took them to class and Josh worked at a local Starbucks for a while.  When we got home, they were exhausted and went straight to bed.  Then we were off to catch the end of Annie's volleyball game (pictures to come tomorrow).  She is getting pretty good!!  Tahnee and I went and had dinner with Desiree, Melissa and Brady that night at BJ's.  It was so fun to catch up with them and just hang out with the girls.  I can't wait to move to CA and hang out with them more.

Friday, Josh and I went back to Disneyland and met up with Jack and Joanna Taggart.  It was so much fun to hang out with them (they love Disney just like us).  We went on a ton of rides, got some great food, and enjoyed the day.  Everything was decorated for Halloween and so cute.  I love Disneyland decorated for the Holidays.  Next time we go, it will be all Christmas!!

Saturday we just relaxed and hung out with the family.  In the morning, we ran over with Tahnee, my mom, and Gracee to the Irvine Spectrum to return some stuff.  Then we picked up some "Frostings" cookies and a pizza for lunch.  My grandparents and Robyn came over for a couple hours for lunch.  We love when they come over.  Robyn looks AMAZING!  We planned a trip to the outlets when she comes up next month!  Then my dad, Tyler and Gregory got back from Glamis and we got Cafe Rio for dinner and just hung out.  Chris and Nicole came over to play a game of Nerts...Tahnee won (of course).

Overall, it was a great little trip and we can't wait for Thanksgiving!!

(More pictures to come tomorrow)

Girl's Best Friend

Yesterday I was reading my cousin-in-law's, Melissa, blog and she posted about the Birch Box.  I had never heard of it.  Listen up girls...you will all LOVE this.  For those of you who think it's a hassle to get to a local Sephora and gather up samples (hoping you don't run into the same associate each time) this is for you.  You pay $10 a month and they ship you a box of four to five samples.  From nail to hair to skin products!  How cool is that?  For those who didn't know me before the mish, I spent more money on cosmetics than anything else.  But now that I have other responsibilities and the cosmetics have gotten pretty low on my priority list.  This is the perfect way to try new products and get presents at my front door all for a low price!  Yippee!  Whoever came up with this idea is a GENIUS!  Thanks Melissa for sharing.

New Arrivals!

Make sure you check out the new arrivals.  More to come!

Yesterday Was A...

...SUPER DATE!  Josh and I woke up early to hit the famous BYU Lost and Found sale.  There were easily a few hundred people waiting in live.  We got there at 7 am and they didn't open the doors until 9 am SHARP!

I hadn't even heard about this sale until a few weeks ago.  You have never seen so much stuff in your life!  The entire ballroom of the Wilkenson center had tons of things that have been lost since last years sale.  They even included all of the stuff lost from all the EFY's across the country.  There were sunglasses, iPods (of all types), TVs, tons of clothes, water bottles, etc.  I went straight to the jewelry line, hoping to find something great.  They let ten people in at a time with a ten minute limit.  The only thing I found of worth was a NIXON watch.  It was really scuffed up though...so much that I or Josh would never wear it, and I didn't even know if it was a "real" NIXON.  So I passed.  Since I was in the jewelry line, Josh went to look at everything else.  By the time I got out of the line (probably 15 minutes after the doors to the sale opened) all of the tables were so picked over.  It was crazy.  I found Josh and he had two water bottles, an umbrella, and a COACH cosmetic case.  I went around for a while looking and there seriously was nothing left.  I did find a blow dryer that looked pretty new; I'm afraid mine is about to die.  Everything I got cost a total of $7.50!  For sales this big, you almost need four or five people to just go all different directions and find stuff.  But it was fun overall.

Afterward, we drove up to Salt Lake City to get my hair done.  This is what it looked like before...

We went to Dextirity Salon where my old roommate, Lauren, works.  It was such a fun, hip salon and a blast to see Lauren.  It's been over a year since my last haircut from her and we had a lot of catching up to do.  She always has great ideas to do with my hair and I love how it turned out.  I didn't take an official after picture...but there are some below.

On our way back to Provo, we stopped off in West Jordan at Gardner's Village.  Oh. My. Gosh!  So cute!  If you haven't been there, you need to go.  It was all decorated for Halloween (which I can't believe the holidays are here) and apparently it was "Witches Night Out," so there were a ton of women dressed up as witches.  That night they were having a bunch of fun activities.  I'd love to go back sometime.  Here are some pictures from the day.

We were exhausted by the time we left and I slept the whole way home.  I rested for a big when I got home and then met up with Meg for dinner.  Josh had to study all night :(  Meg and I went to Jason's Deli, gabbed for a couple hours and then went to Target.  Of course you don't realize you need anything until you get there.

We then went home (yes, Meg came to my home) to charge her computer and we watched "She's the Man."  What a great movie.

It was a fun, LONG day.  Can't wait for more holiday festivities!!
