Personal Shopping

The other night, our friends, Dane and Bridget Smith, invited us over for dinner. Fajitas...YUM! We had a lot of fun, playing with their baby girl, Lynlee and talking up a storm. After dinner and some amazing Earnestly Chocolate ice cream from the Creamery, Bridget and I sat on the couch as the men played the Wii. Well, we were pretty bored watching them, so Dane (I think) suggested we go shopping. First of all, I would have a HEART ATTACK if Josh suggested I go shopping. Mine and Bridget's eyes lit up and we ran to the car. I didn't even have my purse, we were going strictly for Bridget. It was the funnest shopping experience ever! I felt like I would be hurtful and offend her because I will tell my honest opinion. After the first store, I felt like she was not going to like coming with me. Then we went to Forever 21. I don't care who you are, we all secretly like Forever 21 and we can always find cute things in that store for CHEAP! I started going around picking up stuff that I didn't even know if she would like. I know she looked at it all like, "I would never pick any of that out," but still agreed to try it all on. She liked it ALL! Although she didn't purchase all of it, she got (most of it and) some great things to start with and build upon. Lots of stripes and colored pants. I wish I had taken pictures. Her hubby liked the clothes too (which was the most important goal). When we got home, we went back to her closet and went through her clothes to see what she could give to D.I. It was such a fun night which got me thinking....

What if I went into this a career?? I swear everyday I want to do something different. But this seriously would be so much fun. There are a lot of stores and companies who already provide this service but then there are a ton of individuals who run their own business. My question to you (and I mean all of you that come across this blog) is, would you pay for this service? Would you let someone else shop for you? Would you let someone re-vamp your wardrobe? I am really serious about this. I don't know if it would be a huge career, but definitely something on the side. To you Utah readers, I would love to go shopping with you. Do you need an honest opinion of clothes you try on? Do you need suggestions with clothes? Please let me know and I would love to help. For FREE!!! It would give me great practice. I can work with all budgets. I am dead serious. I know a lot of people look at my blog (I see the numbers), so please leave comments and be honest. I can take it :)

  1. It makes a HUGE difference to get a third-party perspective!!! Back in March I pulled every single thing I owned out of the closet and put it in Christina's hands whether things stayed or went to DI - after all, I was keeping stuff for a connected memory, not because it looked good. It was SO awesome to have fewer clothes to deal with - and plenty more closet space as I've bought new stuff to match my thinner figure and updated taste.

Same goes for buying stuff - a lot of the time I get in a rut and stick with what's comfortable, even though I'd secretly love to break out of my fashion comfort zone. A lot of people are probably in the same boat. You have a great eye for fashion, Tiersh. I say go for it!!! I've spent about all I can for this year, but come January, maybe we can hit the mall?

  2. I think that this is a great idea! I am always looking for second opinions on clothing. And I love having someone to go shopping with.:)

More often then not I stare at my closet and think to myself...I have nothing to wear. Of course this can not be true...my drawers and closet are over flowing with clothes. Last week I went through my clothes and threw a whole bunch into a bag for DI. But for some reason I still hold on to some clothes even when I do not wear them. Not sure why that is...to cute and can't let go, hoping to find the right "accessories" or for some other strange reason. Help!

In a few weeks I will be having a "big" shopping spree and would love help or even some advice! Plus Christmas is coming (in a few months) and I should be preparing my Christmas wish list anyways.:)

  3. I think it's a great idea! Some people (myself included) have the hardest time finding good stuff that fits in with their budget. I just read your other blog and you have a talent for finding great deals! I can only find good deals for my daughter but for me it's so hard.
