Thanksgiving with the Neilsons

November was spent gearing up for my entire family to come for Thanksgiving. Of course the girls had, at least, coordinating outfits for church one weekend. Thanks again to Grandma Tylyn and hand-me-downs! And yes, Naomi is wearing a tiara (it being the only headband that matched). I love this first picture of the girls!!

Charlotte’s class put in a performance for the parents the day before my family came
Into town. She loves when we come to her school. She practiced her part and said it perfectly!! After the performance, we were able to go see some fun things she’d been working on in her classroom!

We were thrilled that everyone in my family wanted to come to our home for Thanksgiving and I’m glad that we are now able to host everyone at once! The majority stayed for a week and Tahnee stayed for two weeks. Annie was booked solid for photography shoots and we enjoyed some of what the Carolinas have to offer!

Thanksgiving dinner was so great. Josh cooked his first turkey and we had our friends, the Humrichs, over! We have so much to be thanksgul for this year! I really am grateful for the amazing support we have had over the past year and to be healthy enough to be raising our girls and a wife to Josh!

Halloween Festivities

October 2018

Halloween was very long this year. We celebrated early October with a trip to the pumpkin patch with friends. We took a wagon ride, ate apple cider donuts, and let the kids run around. Of course, it’s still very warm, but the girls looked so cute and festive in their outfits!!

Later that day we went to Carowinds. Charlotte got to play two carnival games as a result in a bribe. 🙈 She was in heaven because she never gets to do this!

Charlotte’s elementary school had “Storybook Day” where you dress up like one of your favorite Storybook characters. It’s in lieu of Halloween dress up. She picked Fancy Nancy. She slept in hair curlers to get the full effect. I think her costume turned out perfect!

Our ward put on a Trunk-or-Treat that got moved inside due to the rain. The girls were both Belle this year. The primary kids presented their costumes in a little performance and Charlotte gave everyone a little twirl!

We visited a very popular apple orchard in South Carolina. But once we got there, we realized it was known for its hard cider. ;) We stayed sober and got normal apple cider and the best cider donuts!!

Once actual Halloween came around,  we were pretty ready!! Charlotte wore her Halloween outfit to school, naturally! We celebrated that night with our community on Main Street with our friends, the Humrichs! It was fun to trick-or-treat to all the small business owners and vendors. Then we went out to dinner. I think this will become our new Halloween tradition!! Once we arrived back at home, Josh took Charlotte to a few houses in the neighborhood. We partied and enjoyed the candy when they got back!
