Console Table

I searched high and low for the perfect console/entryway table for my home. I found the perfect one at TJ Maxx/Home Goods a little over a month ago. It's grey and exactly what I was looking for. I've decided to make it my holiday display table. Since I will not be decorating my entire apartment I wanted to still be festive. So here is Valentines! Just need to get a pink candle and it will be totally done. Who likes it?

Already have my St. Patrick's subway art printed!

More Disneyland

Josh hadn't been to Disneyland for three weeks and he finally had a day off, so we are here...yes right now! Josh is on Radiator Springs while I wait with Charlotte. We started our day by going to JoAnns to look at some potential curtain material (Josh HATES craft stores more than anything), then to Costco to pick up photos and subway art I had printed, and our last stop before Disneyland was to visit my grandparents and Robyn. We were there for a couple hours so they could see Charlotte.

Once we got to Disneyland, we headed straight for California Adventure. We hit up the Little Mermaid and Toy Story ride. Charlotte hated both. Ugh! My worst nightmare come true...my children don't like Disneyland!! She is much more aware of her surroundings since the last time she went in some rides. You don't realize how loud and jerky everything is until you have a child. Everything g at Disneyland is loud!! I think she was overly stimulated. I think we will have to hold off on some rides for a little bit. We will just enjoy being in the park.

One of Those Days

Today has been a rough day so far. About five months ago, Josh and I moved to southern California from Utah to live close to my family. Today was something I never saw coming...my family moved to Utah! They have never wanted to move out of Orange County, let alone the state of CA! But it all changed as they packed the final things in the trailer and set off for their new adventure. They will be living in Alpine and, yes, I already have trips planned. Now this forces me to have my own adventures, make some friends and enjoy my own life with Charlotte and Josh. Stay tuned for some exciting days ahead. The Whitmore girls (Charlotte and I) will be making our own fun, just the two of us! Many days at Disneyland, I'm sure! Listening to Charlotte talk my ears off. It's going to be great; but until then, I'm just going to take this one day and be sad. Tomorrow is a new day! I'm excited for my family's new home, new adventures, new ward, new friends, new schools, NEW EVERYTHING!!

In two weeks, I will be in Vegas with Tahnee, mom and my aunt Robyn. Can't wait!!

Last Minute Family Fun!

The last two days, the kids have had needed some entertaining since the house is EMPTY! Yesterday, I took the twins all day! I was exhausted by the end, but much to my surprise, they were pretty good. We went to the Irvine Spectrum and rose the Ferris wheel and carousal. The food court was closed so we ate at Target (I had some shopping to do anyway). Josh was working at the office and met us for lunch! Then we went to the Mission Viejo mall (where there was air conditioning) and walked around and ended up at the Disney store where Charlotte tried some sunglasses. Later that night, Josh and I went in a date to Yard House and Les Mis. It was unbelievable! Thanks for such a terrific night!

Ferris Wheel- Everyone had to have their own seat
Carousal and water fountain at the Spectrum

Today, my mom and I took the kids to the Santa Ana Zoo. Of course they liked it! They also rode the train and carousal there as well. When we returned home, the neighborhood had a little party for the kids.
Zoo!
Neighborhood Party- all the kids got scarves and snow ball makers

My family is leaving tomorrow (they are hoping, at least). I just can't believe it. But it will be for the best! We will really have a sense of independence, while my parents will be able to start a new life with their five remaining kids at home. I have many trips already planned so hopefully it will not be as hard as maybe it could be.

4 Month Checkup

Today was Charlotte's four month appointment. She is doing great! The doctor said she has a perfect head shape, head strength, will take after me in height, sleeps unbelievably...not to brag but I know I have the perfect child ;) luckily she is averaging out in all her stats. Her first appointment I was worried when she was in the 90-100%. So glad my baby is doing well and growing right! Next step: baby food (which totally terrifies me).

Molly's Blessing Day

Yesterday, the three of us drove to LA for Molly Taggart's blessing.  Jack gave a great blessing to his daughter and she didn't make a peep!  Side Note: We sat right behind Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) and he passed the Sacrament to our row.  Josh and I both are ready to move to their ward.  It was so diverse, young, and friendly.  Don't get me wrong, I love my ward, but their ward was a lot smaller and seemed like everyone knew each other really well.  Josh and I live in the biggest ward in our stake, yet everyone has still been super nice and has reached out to us.  Anyway, getting back on track... after church, we went back to Jack and Joanna's place for a great lunch.

4 Months Old

Today marks Charlotte's four-month mark! I seriously don't know where the time goes.  She is getting more fun each day and I can't imagine my life without her.

So far Charlotte has...
  • Celebrated her first Halloween, Thankgsgiving and Christmas
  • Sleeping in her own bed
  • Talking, more like screaming, this past week!
  • Holding her own bottle (on occassion)
  • Gotten used to her dad's beard
  • Loves to be held and paid attention too (what baby doesn't?!)
  • Sat in her Bumbo just fine and is great at holding her head up during Tummy Time
  • Been able to sleep through anything
  • Come to love TV and Despicable Me is her favorite movie ;)
  • Gone to Disneyland probably more than any other 4-month old!
Charlotte is the center of our universe and now that the holidays are over and my family is moving to Utah, she and I will be having a lot more one on one time.  I am looking forward to it!  Charlotte, your daddy and I love you and can't wait to see how you continue to grow!

Gracee's Baptism

Saturday, January 5, Gracee was baptized.  Josh and Tyler both spoke and had some family and friends join us.  It was a very special day for Gracee.

Christmas with the Neilson's

We got back from Connecticut on January 1 and Tahnee and Tyler picked us up from John Wayne.  We got home around 10:30 and visited for a while.  The next day we opened presents with my family.

Grandma Tylyn missed Charlotte over the break

I know, it's like the same picture, but she's so dang cute!

Tahnee and Tyler got dad jeans...

...and Mom a scarf and sweatshirt.

Josh and I got dad exercise rings...
...and Mom a purse.

I had Annie's name and got her face products...

...slippers...
...and a new purse.

Got an iPad stand from Annie

Matching sweaters from Mom

Josh had Tahnee's name and got her J.K. Rowling's new book...

...and computer case (that didn't fit).
Michael and Tyler got the same thing

Josh got me UGG slippers.  I am in love with them already!

Josh got an ESPN subscription and Insider info
This past Friday the four older kids went to Disneyland. I actually met everyone up there around 3 in the afternoon.  We had a lot of fun. I can't even remember when we had been to Disneyland the last time together.  It was so cold that night so for dinner we all got bread bowls.  It was delicious.  Both parks were really crowded, but tomorrow is the start of empty parks.  I think I might go up on Tuesday just because!
